Racism in the Record?

Two authors discuss their recent study finding that Black patients were twice as likely as White patients to be described with negative words in their history and physical notes, particularly in inpatient records.

Sometimes hospitalists say negative things about their patients in the electronic health record (EHR). But would you guess that they may be more than twice as likely to do so when the patient is Black?
