Welcome to the ACP Rhode Island Chapter website! This site has been developed to keep internal medicine physicians and subspecialists in Rhode Island up-to-date on the developments and activities in our Chapter.
ACP is the nation's largest medical specialty organization. Â鶹ֱ²¥app comprises more than 160,000 internal medicine physicians, medical students, and allied health professionals. Our Rhode Island chapter has a growing membership of 946. We are your link to the larger organization, your grassroots advocacy partner, and your local supplier of educational, professional, and social programs. Our goal is to be your local professional home.
As Governor, I’m responsible for representing our Chapter to the national organization; encouraging internal medicine physicians in our state to become members; helping members advance to Fellowship; recognizing members for their achievements; soliciting input and action on national and local political issues affecting internal medicine, and then addressing state legislature to speak for our members and their patients; hosting local scientific meetings and CME events; and encouraging Medical Student Members and Resident/Fellow Members to participate in local and national College activities. We offer valuable networking, professional development, advocacy, and educational activities to enhance your member experience.
Keep an eye on your inbox for our chapter newsletters and other communications from the chapter highlighting member achievements, as well as upcoming opportunities to engage with one another. You can also find contact information for our chapter. We welcome any suggestions you might have for our website and the chapter - We need your feedback so we can better serve you and do our part to help make us all better, happier internal medicine physicians.
If you have questions, please reach out to me or our chapter staff, Roni Phipps at any time. I look forward to engaging with you!
Sincerely,
Kwame Dapaah-Afriyie, MBChB, FACP, SFHM
