Global Program Faculty Receive Deserved Honors

The ACP Global Engagement Department congratulates the following ACP members on their recent accomplishments, and appreciates the effort they have made to recent ACP global activities:

Gustavo (Tavo) Heudebert, M.D., MACP, interim dean of the UAB School of Medicine Montgomery Regional Medical Campus, was recently selected as the recipient of the Ellen Gregg Ingalls/University of Alabama at Birmingham National Alumni Society Award for Lifetime Achievement in Teaching.

Alejandro Moreno, MBBS, MPH, JD, FACP Associate Professor of Medicine and Medical Education, Assistant Dean for Clinical Skills Integration at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, recently received a Laureate award from the ACP Texas chapter.

Throughout 2019, both Dr. Heudebert and Dr. Moreno have demonstrated exceptional teaching skills in the recent roles they have played in the ACP Faculty Development Programs. Specifically, the programs taught in Spanish in Argentina and Paraguay. These programs received great participation and feedback was highly complementary. Their hard work has significant impact on the global relationships ACP is building, as they further promote the mission of ACP by delivering high-quality education in areas where our presence is expanding. We are grateful for the wonderful faculty who represent ACP during these global programs and are so fortunate for their commitment and willingness to be involved.
