ACP offers videos, resources to improve patients' health literacy

October is Health Literacy Month and to help educate patients, ACP members have access to resource guides, brochures, and patient fact sheets at ACP's Patient Education Center. All print materials which are written at or below a sixth-grade reading level, are free, and most are available in Spanish. ACP's recent policy paper, , points out that lack of resources can stifle patients' health literacy and their ability to comprehend basic health care information. Low health literacy has been linked to higher rates of hospitalization and less frequent use of preventive services, both of which are associated with higher health care costs.


The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will host a MACRA Cost Measures Field Testing Webinar on October 9, 2018 at 12:00-1:30 pm ET in conjunction with field testing activities. This webinar will provide information on field testing and measures to clinicians. There will be a Q&A session, and attendees will be able to submit questions via chat or over the phone.
