ACP Offers Suggestions to Promote Efficiency, Improve Chronic Care

ACP recently responded to two requests from federal agencies about how to improve our health care system. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) issued a request for information (RFI) about promoting efficiency and equity within CMS programs. In response ACP shared suggestions to improve access to health care and related challenges, understanding physician experiences, advancing health equity, and assessing the impact of waivers and flexibilities provided in response to the COVID-19 PHE. Additionally, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) issued an RFI about Person-Centered Care Planning for Multiple Chronic Conditions (MCC). ACP recommended the agency consider ACP's guiding principles for ensuring that care coordination is effective, longitudinal, and fosters ongoing primary and specialty care coordination.
