The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) released its 2022 Recommended Adult Immunization Schedule, simultaneously published in and in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), that includes changes to the zoster, pneumococcal, and hepatitis B vaccines. The 2022 schedule includes information on COVID-19 vaccine, which can be co-administered with other vaccines and is particularly important because many adults have fallen behind on routine vaccinations due to the pandemic.
A series of videos by Dr. Sandra Adamson Fryhofer, MD, MACP explaining ACIP's process, how to use the schedule, and changes to specific vaccines, including flu, are available.
